June 8, 2007 - Just received EIGHTEEN bags of Kureyon from Noro - WOW!
This self-striping wool yarn is
perfect for felting - and would also be terrific for an Adult Surprise Jacket.

May 8, 2007
- The ever popular OPAL sock yarns have arrived - eight different colors in the Rainforest series and sixteen different colors in the Hundertwasser series - half of these are cotton/wool blends!

March 11, 2007 - Take a look at the SALE shelf next time you are in - we are closing out all of the Cascade 220 because we found yarns that are much more FUN to felt with - pick up a bargain!

February 26, 2007
-
Added 18 NEW colors of Koigu Painter's Pallette Premium Merino over the weekend. The Koigu book is finally here...along with a giant bale of genuine Shetland Jumperweight wool from Scotland. All 165 colors - YIPPEE!

February 4, 2007 - Fun New yarns arriving daily! Just put out a huge pile of Araucania Yarns Magallanes - a hand painted yarn very similar to Manos del Uruguay. DK weight - 242 yards for $11.95

On the bead front, I definitely cornered the market on Bloodstone while I was at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show last week. There was not very much of it and I bought all I could find! Pendants, earrings, faceted beads, and a few rocks for good measure :-)

January 24, 2007 - Found wonderful new yarns at TNNA in San Diego, including two new lines that will be perfect for charity knitting - nice quality washable yarns in both variegated and self-striping, FUN colors :-)
To make room for the NEW yarn, there is some terrific buys on the SALE shelf in the back room - I am closing out the worsted weight Louet linen (I think sport weight is better for garment) but the worsted is terrific for towels, place mats, and washcloths. There is also a big pile of Crystal Palace cotton chenille which makes cute toys, baby face cloths, and crocheted flowers.

December 29, 2006 - Did I hear something about a little SALE?

December 22, 2006
- NEW from Colinette - four colorways of their new sock yarn - Jitterbug. What I like about this yarn is the super fine twist - very much like the twist in KPPPM. The colors are Castagne, Lapis, Copperbeach, and Toscana.

December 1, 2006
- Bead Weavers Alert - Just in from BeadSmith - the two newest sizes of FIRELINE - 14 lb. and 20 lb. in crystal!

November 22, 2006
- Just in time for the weekend, I have a BIG box of half price patterns - all kinds including HeartStrings, Knitting Pure and Simple, Oat Couture, and Fiber Trends. I finally decided I am sooo not going to have time to make samples of these so out they go!

Also NEW in the shop are the ultra-cute felted bags by Two Stix.

October 24, 2006 - Just received a shipment of Jade Sapphire 6 ply Cashmere in WONDERFUL colors - Candy Girl, Granny Smith, Everglades, Forest Glenn, Anya's Garden, Flannel Suite, Autumn Sonata, and the ever popular Cashaflouge :-)

September 20, 2006 - Yippee - we are getting MORE Koigu Premium Merino (KPPPM) in variegated colors. There was a shop back east that got too much (HUH?) and they are sending it to us - YIPPEE! The Koigu book- Knits From a Painter's Palette - is expected out in December - $24.95. A little bird told me the Koigu folks might be persuaded to come to Arizona this winter for a book signing . . . maybe January or February. Now that would be FANTASTIC - think we could fill Jerome with Koigu fanatics for the weekend? Drop me a line if you are interested in attending.

And on a completely different end of the spectrum - I have re supplied the wonderful Buffalo Gold yarn - fingering and worsted weight. I also received some buffalo hide pieces that would make terrific medicine bags - and one large cone of a special Zeilinger's Mill run of fingering weight Buffalo Gold - the cone is 1.3 pounds - $450 ($22 per ounce) The skeined yarn is $34 an ounce so if you are planning a big project, the cone is an excellent value. It still has the spinning oil in it so it would be perfect for weaving or using on a knitting machine.

September 18, 2006 - Lost of new items on the sale shelf - five giant balls (475 yds each) of Echo Egyptian Cotton is a wonderful pink. I did a Kiri Shawl last summer in this yarn - one ball made a cute small shawl. Regular price $15.50 - sale price $10.99.
Also a stack of Classic Elite Posh Print (30% Cashmere 70% silk) in a sort of hot pink/orange sherbet color. Regular price $38 for 125 yards - sale price $25.

September 12, 2006 - New from Beadsmith - Crystal Clear Fireline - extra Fine, 4 lb. Size B. $7.99 each

August 23, 2006 - On the center table this week . . . Cashmere-Silk from Jade Sapphire. Four colors of the 2-ply laceweight in 400 yard skeins. Plum Crazy, Anya's Garden, Cashaflouge, and Forest Glen. A super soft mix of 45% Chinese cashmere and 55% silk. $32 each

I also started working on my husband's Ghost Sweater out of 2-ply Buffalo Gold. Did a tiny swatch and threw it in the washing machine - wow! Way softer than quiviut!

July 19, 2006 - Just received a shipment of the newest tool from Beadsmith - the Magical Crimp Forming Plier. Turns your crimp beads into a 2 mm ROUND bead without using a crimp cover!

July 7, 2006 - The new Blue Heron pattern CD 1 is in stock - twenty-eight different patterns for their wonderful yarn - $10
We also have a pile of the very wacky Ozark Handspun yarns - both the wool/mohair and the NEW wool/mohair/silk.

Note - There are twenty steps UP to the front door. At the foot of the stairs is one handicapped parking place and three twenty minute spots. Remember - parking on the weekends can involve a hike :-)
